See You at the Market 2 - Ep. 4: Sinhua Market in Tainan
Taiwan’s former capital, Tainan, is often considered to be the country’s cultural capital. We take you to Sinhua Market, where goods and produce from all over the city are sold. Century-old Baroque buildings built over 80 years ago and convenience stores crisscross the market, blending contemporary and well-preserved architecture. Although Sinhua Market struggled in 1965 with the change of local eating habits, many of its oldest stores dating back to the Japanese era still survive to this day.
