Speak Mandarin at Taiwan's Convenience Stores - Mandarin on the Go Ep13
In Taiwanese cities, there are convenience stores on nearly every corner! Learn how to conduct common transactions in Mandarin at these one-stop shops. **Vocabulary list below!** Did you know that Taiwan's convenience stores sell a lot more than just physical products? Shops like 7-Eleven, Family Mart and Hi-Life offer an abundance of services including bill payment, shipping, package pick-up and even tax filing! In this episode, Taiwanese Mandarin teacher Peggy and her student Bertie head to a 7-Eleven to grab a late-night snack and conduct some simple transactions. Join Bertie as he learns how to make a purchase, have his food microwaved and pick up a package. You'll also learn about Taiwanese convenience store memberships and Taiwan's receipt lottery (yes, making purchases in Taiwan could win you some extra cash). By the end of this episode, you will attain basic vocabulary you can use on your next trip to a Taiwanese convenience store. Mandarin on the Go teaches Taiwanese Mandarin (aka Mandarin Chinese) in easy-to-digest segments that are both practical and reflect how Taiwanese people use the Mandarin language in daily life. We incorporate real-life scenarios and elements of local culture to provide a fun learning environment while encouraging authentic connection. To practice what you've learned, rewind to certain vocabulary words using the chapter labels provided. A complete vocabulary list is also provided in the description box for each video in this series. Thanks for watching!
