If you love classical music, you're in for a treat! Musical genius and concert pianist Steven Lin joins Dennis on the couch in this episode of The Taipei Tonight Show. Steven chats about all things music and performing, sharing insights into his incredible life in music. Classical pianist Steven Lin has performed with many prestigious orchestras worldwide, including the Berlin Philharmonic, and has even graced the stage of Carnegie Hall. He discusses how he began learning the piano and how his first private tutor ignited his passion for music. Accepted into Juilliard on the East Coast of the U.S. at just nine years old, Steven recounts his audition process and how his parents felt about his move to study abroad. Now an accomplished concert pianist and a professor at the University of Taipei, Steven tours regularly and teaches the next generation of musicians. He shares his personal philosophy on performance and the approach he takes to his craft. He also recounts some memorable stories, including making a mistake during a competition performance. As a special treat, we’re delighted by Steven’s performance of Chopin’s “Heroic Polonaise, Op. 53.” The show wraps up with a fun game to test Steven’s improvisational skills.
