A New Vision of National Treasures: “Early Spring”

"Early Spring" is a masterpiece landscape painting by Guo Xi completed during the Northern Song Dynasty. The work, which shows the snow melting, changing clouds, and the growth of vegetation, demonstrates his ability to produce multiple perspectives, which he called "the angle of totality." Nearly 800 years after the painting was completed, a poem describing it was inscribed on the image by the Qing dynasty Qianlong Emperor.
