Guardians of Formosa: Wildlife

Taiwan is home to many unique endemic species, including the iconic Formosan Black Bear and Taiwanese Pangolin. Despite their popularity and status as symbols of Taiwan, both animals are at risk for extinction due to contact with humans. Teams of veterinarians and ecologists are trying to save these animals and heal the injured at rescue centers across Taiwan.

"Guardians of Formosa" is a program created over two years and filmed across more than 500 days, set against Taiwan’s mountains and oceans. It deeply explores the impact of climate change and human overdevelopment on Taiwan’s ecosystems and the devastating effects on its precious species.
