The Internet of Things (IoT), big data, and artificial intelligence are essential elements that drive urban development and are now actively promoted by the government. The Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) has combined the forces of government and private entities to strengthen digital control in four major areas, including earthquakes, water resources, air quality, and disaster prevention and relief. These improvements will provide real-time environmental monitoring data to the public and actively help build a smart Taiwan that protects the safety and happiness of the people through technological disaster mitigation and avoidance.
