THE SOUND FROM TAIWAN: Matthew Lien 25th Anniversary Album Clip
In commemoration of the 25th anniversary in Taiwan, Canadian musician Matthew Lien invited his musician friends from overseas in early 2023 to experience the warmness and friendliness of Taiwan. With the video documentary, he revisits his course of composition in Taiwan and the outdoor concert in Taitung. Artists including Canadian violinist Alana Martinson, guitarist Elijah Bekk, mixing engineer Todd Hooge, Taiwan bamboo flutist Yin-Chung, Huang, Erhu artist Yi-Chien, Chou, drummer Wen-Wei, Chen, bass player Chun-Lin, Yeh, percussionist Cheng-Chun, Wu, poet singer Chen Mingchang, Golden Melody Awards - Best Hakka Singer Misa, music artist Siki Sufin, traditional musician Yuan-Keng, You, and AMIS Gagen Band all participated in the performance. The video combines the content of visiting Taiwan, recorded into a video album, sharing Matthew Lien’s passion for the land and culture of Taiwan from his perspective so that the world can hear the beautiful sound from Taiwan.
