From Page to Screen: TaiwanPlus Premieres New Literary Interview Series “Cover to Cover"

Known for her calm and engaging interview style, Wu guides each discussion with clarity and curiosity, creating space for authors to reflect on their creative processes.

TaiwanPlus kicked off the new year with the launch of “Cover to Cover,” a new interview series that brings literature from the page to the screen. Premiering on January 23, the program features award-winning authors and translators in thoughtful conversations that explore not only their books, but also the personal journeys and cultural contexts behind them.

Hosted by Emily Y. Wu, co-founder of Taiwan’s leading podcast production platform “Ghost Island Media” and former host of TaiwanPlus’ “Game Changers” series, “Cover to Cover” offers viewers an intimate look at some of the most compelling works connected to Taiwan today. Known for her calm and engaging interview style, Wu guides each discussion with clarity and curiosity, creating space for authors to reflect on their creative process, inspirations, and the broader issues shaping their writing.

The inaugural season features a distinguished lineup of literary voices, including veteran journalist Chris Horton, author of Ghost Nation: The Story of Taiwan and Its Struggle for Survival; Lin King, translator of A Taiwan Travelogue, the first Taiwanese work to win the U.S. National Book Award for Translated Literature; internationally recognized Indigenous author Syaman Rapongan, discussing his latest work Eyes of the Ocean; and Kevin Chen, author of the acclaimed novel Ghost Town.

Producer Lilian Ho noted that the series was designed to deepen the connection between readers and writers while inviting new audiences into the literary world. “’Cover to Cover” serves as both a backstage pass for readers to better understand the authors and the stories behind their books, while also opening the door for those discovering these works for the first time,” Ho said.

By spotlighting authors and translators whose works resonate locally and internationally, “Cover to Cover” reinforces TaiwanPlus’ commitment to presenting Taiwan’s cultural narratives to a global audience.

The first episode of “Cover to Cover” is now available on the TaiwanPlus official website and YouTube channel. New episodes will be released every two weeks.
