Mark Carney will be Canada's next prime minister after becoming the new leader of the Liberal Party. He won the party's leadership race with 85% of the vote, defeating Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland. In his acceptance speech, Carney said the nation faces dark days brought by the U.S. and said Canada will never be "part of America."
