Taiwan Coast Guard Drives Away 16 Chinese Vessels Near Island Waters

Taiwan’s coast guard says it drove away 16 Chinese vessels from waters near Taiwan's main island and Dongsha Island, also known as Pratas Island, on Sunday. The vessels included coast guard, research and fishing ships, with some entering restricted waters, according to Taiwan authorities. The incident comes after Chinese authorities warned that Taipei would face consequences following use of a water cannon on a Chinese fishing vessel earlier this month.
