Yani Tseng to compete at Asian Games after 20 years
Former world no.1 golfer Yani Tseng is set to represent Taiwan at the upcoming Asian Games in Japan, marking her return to the Games after 20 years.
Yani Tseng (FORMER WORLD NO.1 GOLFER):
I feel it’s a truly great honor
[to represent Taiwan at the Games].
[The first time] I was very young.
I didn’t understand how important the Asian Games were to me
But now, looking back 20 years later
I feel truly honored that I can represent Taiwan again.
I’m also truly grateful to myself for making it this far.
REPORTER:
Speaking at an event on Friday, Tseng says she will approach the Games with a calm mindset and make sure she is well-prepared. The Games get underway in Japan on September 19th. This year, Taiwan is sending almost 500 athletes to the event, with six competing in golf.
