Taiwan’s sports minister, Lee Yang, boycotted the opening ceremony of the Asian Paralympic Games in Nagoya, Japan, after organizers removed his official designation. Lee had previously been approved to attend as “Sports Minister,” but organizers unilaterally changed his status to “guest.” Taiwan has filed a formal protest with the Asian Paralympic Committee, saying any adjustments to official titles should be clearly explained. The Asian Paralympic Games are taking place in Nagoya from Oct. 18 to 24.
