Taiwanese gymnast Tang Chia-hung, nicknamed the "King of Cats," has won gold with a career-best score on the horizontal bar at the Asian Gymnastics Championships in China. Tang's win, along with bronze medals from teammates Lee Chih-kai and Hung Yuan-hsi, secured Taiwan's place the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in the Netherlands this October.

Taiwan's "King of Cats" -- Tang Chia-hung dominated in the Asian Gymnastics Championships, winning gold with a career-high score on the horizontal bar.

 

Tang was competing on Sunday in Guizhou, China, following up on his gold-medal victory this past March in Azerbaijan. He scored fifteen and a half points (15.500) to smash his own career record. Adding to Taiwan’s medal tally, Lee Chih-kai clinched a bronze on the pommel horse, while Hung Yuan-hsi secured bronze on the parallel bars. The strong performance locked down a fifth-place team finish, securing Taiwan's ticket to the World Championships in the Netherlands this October.
