Taiwan Vice President Defends US$40 Billion Special Defense Budget
Taiwan Vice President Bi-khim Hsiao is defending a proposed US$40 billion special defense budget currently under debate in the legislature. In an exclusive interview with Mirror News, Hsiao said the eight-year plan averages about US$5 billion per year, or roughly US$190 per person annually, based on Taiwan’s population of 23 million.
