This summer, 31 opposition Kuomintang lawmakers have their positions at stake in the largest recall movement the country has ever seen. Beginning as a civic movement, the push to recall opposition lawmakers has gained support from the ruling Democratic Progressive Party, who are frustrated with what they say are inefficiencies and corruption in the legislature. But opposition groups are fighting back, saying that their voices and their constituents deserve to be heard. TaiwanPlus spoke with recall campaigners and KMT officials to learn how the movement all began.
