Opposition lawmakers are asking for more information about TSMC's recently announced US$100 billion investment plan in the U.S. and how the move will impact Taiwan's dominance in the critical industry. This comes after President Lai Ching-te and TSMC chair C.C. Wei's joint press conference, where Lai called the chip giant's latest investment a historic moment for Taiwan-U.S. ties.
