Indigenous Language Revived
Alexander Adelaar is a historical linguist working on Austronesian languages at the University of Melbourne’s Asia Institute. He worked with a Taiwanese-Filipino couple to create a grammar guide and vocabulary of the Siraya language. TaiwanPlus reporter Louise Watt spoke to the Dutch linguist, and asked him about the challenges in reviving disappearing languages.
