US Delegation Visits Taiwan
A U.S. military plane carrying a delegation of 13 representatives including lawmakers and military officials touched down in Taipei unannounced on Tuesday evening. In response, China launched combat exercises across the strait and admonished the U.S. for interfering in what it calls its "internal affairs." Officials remain tight-lipped on the details of the visit, but Premier Su Tseng-chang said Taiwan was grateful for U.S. support.
