Episode 24 & 25 - What Matters More: Indigenous Culture or Animal Rights?
In this two-part episode, we follow Taiwan’s Indigenous hunters as they reclaim traditions long threatened by modern laws and social stigma. From the landmark Tama Talum case to the revival of hunting festivals and young people returning to the mountains with their elders, the story reveals a community fighting to keep culture alive while facing challenges from animal rights groups, conservation debates and restrictive gun regulations. It’s a journey into the heart of Taiwan’s forests—and a struggle over the meaning of survival, heritage and justice. This episode was shot in the summer of 2025 and first aired on the TaiwanPlus News TV channel on October 24th, 2025.
