More than a million people from Southeast Asia live, work and study in Taiwan. Some arrive as students and go on to become journalists, helping tell Taiwan's story to audiences at home and abroad. In this episode of Correspondents, host Andrew Ryan speaks with Indonesian journalist Jennifer Aurelia of Taiwan's Central News Agency and Filipino freelance reporter Gino Lopez. Both first came to Taiwan as students before building careers in journalism. They discuss why they chose Taiwan, how they navigated language and cultural barriers, and what it means to report on migrant communities, labor rights, culture and social issues from a Southeast Asian perspective.
