Over the past few years, there has been an increase in anti-LGBTQ+ hate crimes and legislation in many countries around the world, and the transgender community has been one of the biggest targets. But why are they being targeted by politicians? And why is a nation as progressive as Taiwan still struggling with the acceptance of transgender identities?
