Apple, the world’s largest company by market capital, is 50 years old and has no shortage of mythology – from its origins in a garage to the iPod prototype in the fish tank to the creator of the iconic “think different” ad. To bust the myths, CONNECTED spoke to “Apple: The First 50 Years” author and veteran tech journalist David Pogue. He charts how the company went from hippy-staffed start-up to a customer base of almost a third of the world’s population. We also hear how Taiwanese semiconductors gave Apple the edge it needed to make the word’s most popular smartphone. Pogue looks ahead to what Apple’s partnership with Google means for the company and whether they can play catch-up in the age of AI. Host: Divya Gopalan
