Every month, 1.8 billion people menstruate but at least 500 million of those people lack suitable facilities to manage their period in a dignified and safe way. So, why is something that half the world’s population go through in their lifetime still considered a taboo in so many places? To help us understand the importance of fighting for menstrual justice we CONNECTED with Melissa Berton, the co-founder and executive director of the Pad Project, a nonprofit committed to ending period stigma and empowering menstruators globally, and Vivi Lin, the founder of With Red, a nonprofit fighting for period equity and battling misconceptions around menstruation here in Taiwan.
