Taiwan is generally considered one of the safest countries in the world but not when it comes to road safety. The number of deaths from traffic accidents in Taiwan is around five times higher than that of other developed countries in the region such as Japan.
We Connected with Raphael Grzebieta, professor emeritus of road safety at the University of New South Wales, and Ben Goren, the director of communications at Taiwan Policy Center to find out how Taiwan’s traffic and road safety problems compare to other places in the world.
