Disinformation is the deliberate use of strategic deceptions and media manipulation to advance political, military or commercial goals. Recent elections around the world have been plagued by disinformation campaigns, and Taiwan’s 2024 election is no exception. We #CONNECTED with Chihao Yu, co-director at Taiwan Information Environment Research Center (IORG), and Namrata Hasija, a research fellow at the Centre for China Analysis and Strategy, to understand the deluge of false information and its tangible impact on Taiwan’s democracy.
