Nearly 180,000 people marched through Taipei in joyful procession for this year’s Taiwan LGBT+ Pride. The event, celebrating equality, visibility and acceptance of the LGBTQ+ community, has been Asia’s largest Pride march for several years.
Not long after, Hong Kong hosted the Gay Games, an international sporting and cultural event promoting the acceptance of sexual diversity. This was the first time for the event to be held in Asia. Despite some political pushback, the games have been considered a massive success.
