Taiwan has a reputation for its welcoming culture and human rights record, but it’s a very different experience for people seeking asylum here. Taiwan does not have a designated asylum law and authorities decide whether to grant refuge on a case-by-case basis. What happens to those who do manage to reach Taiwan in their flight from danger?
