Leo is at Pier 13, a state of the art yacht harbor in Kaohsiung, which once served as a navy pier for military vessels. Now known as “Glory Pier,” the outpost boasts an AI system equipped with a high speed 5G network, and AIoT technology, capable of transmitting signals to compatible vessels and actively guiding them to the berth where they will dock. 5G identification also provides automated support for fuel, water or other services as communicated to the harbor in advance. The crew takes a moment to reflect on Kaohsiung Harbor’s remarkable transformation before continuing their tour at the Takao British Consulate. Built in 1879, Taiwan’s earliest Western‑style building originally served as the British consul’s residence and has since been renovated into one of the best viewing points overlooking Kaohsiung Harbor. Leo takes a trip back in time and returns to the pier once again just as night falls and sets the stage for the dazzling TTXC Expo light show. Where was your favorite stop on the tour? Let us know in the comments below! “Happy Fisherman” Leo Seewald is a Vancouver native taking his trusty fishing boat on a one-of-a-kind voyage around Taiwan.
