The 2025 New York Festivals TV & Film Awards announced its list of finalists on March 21, (Taiwan time), with TaiwanPlus securing nominations for five programs across five different categories. This marks the third time TaiwanPlus programs have been nominated, and a new record for nominations in a single year, surpassing the four in 2024. The judges’ recognition is a testament to the dedication and quality of TaiwanPlus’ production teams, with a breadth of topics and genres represented, including art, music, politics, and history.
TaiwanPlus Director of Programming, Eric Yang, expressed gratitude to the jury for their recognition, noting that the New York Festivals TV & Film Awards attracts outstanding programs from around the world each year. Being nominated alongside major global broadcasters like the BBC, Al Jazeera, and Deutsche Welle is a great honor, and demonstrates the growing maturity of TaiwanPlus in both the diversity and quality of content production.
“With a significant increase in the number of programs we produced last year, it was challenging to finalize our shortlist for these awards,” Yang said, however, he emphasized pride in achieving a record five nominations, attributing the success to the support of TaiwanPlus’ international audiences and local viewers.
