We are committed to exploring the use of generative Artificial Intelligence tools within our newsroom in a way that is fair and ethical, and respects the principles of good journalism. In that spirit, we have developed the following guidelines:
- All TaiwanPlus journalists must undergo basic generative AI training.
- Journalists are strictly forbidden from generating reports and stories using generative AI.
- We treat generative AI the same way we would treat an unverified source.
- AI can be a useful tool for translating, working with data, and conducting research. However, if journalists use generative AI to search for facts, they must also request sources and verify them.
- In the rare situation in which TaiwanPlus News features images or any content created by generative AI, we will make that clear to viewers.
