When analysts and reports in the media talk about a Chinese invasion of Taiwan they discuss when it might be, how it might occur, what the consequences would be. One analyst, however, is saying something different: that there is no evidence China is planning any such invasion. Timothy Heath, is a senior international defense researcher at the Rand Corporation and a former senior analyst for the US Pacific Command China Strategic Focus Group. He has been researching topics about China’s military and politics for more than 20 years.
