In response, Taiwan has sought to strengthen its military ties with like-minded countries, especially the United States. This has included Taiwan’s purchase of 60 Blackhawk helicopters and other U.S. military equipment. Meanwhile, retired U.S. four-star general Robert Abrams recently observed Taiwanese military exercises, even as the UK defense chief visited Beijing for talks. Is the risk of an invasion rising?
