Traditionally, foreign leaders are not invited to the inauguration of U.S. presidents. Yet, U.S. President-elect Donald Trump has extended an invitation to Chinese leader Xi Jinping, along with a few other leaders, to attend his swearing-in on January 20th. When asked by reporters about reports that Xi will not be attending, Trump denied Beijing had actually responded. Trump went on to say he hoped the Chinese leader would attend and that the U.S. and China could together solve all the world's problems.
