Indian media says Delhi has put on hold its plans for a third 65,000-tonne aircraft carrier to greenlight construction of two new nuclear-powered, conventionally armed attack submarines. It's part of a push to modernize the Indian navy in the face of China's expanding presence in the Indian Ocean, and Beijing's significantly greater number of submarines.
