The top U.S. admiral in the Pacific, Samuel Paparo, told the Washington Post that if Beijing invades Taiwan, the United States will unleash an unmanned “hellscape” in the Taiwan Strait with an army of drones. He says the plan is designed to distract China and buy the U.S. time to respond. U.S. President Joe Biden also reiterated commitments to Taiwan's defense in an interview with Time magazine.
