China Watching As Kim and Putin Pledge Stronger Ties in Pyongyang
Vladimir Putin recently made his first trip to North Korea in nearly 25 years, cementing what Ukraine has dubbed a “lonely bromance”. His visit follows Kim Jong-un’s trip to Russia’s far east in September 2023. We ask how China views the deepening relationship between its two internationally isolated neighbors: one a nuclear power, the other in breach of nuclear non-proliferation and testing treaties.
