2024 marks the 45th anniversary of the U.S.’ Taiwan Relations Act, which has defined the unofficial but substantial ties between the two countries since 1979. In this episode of “Taiwan Talks,” we look at the contents of the Taiwan Relations Act, developments in U.S.-Taiwan Relations, and how U.S. support is affecting Taiwan’s security. Additionally, we look at Taiwan’s role in regional peace and how the U.S. presidential elections may impact U.S. commitments to Taiwan.
