Beijing announced it has reached a ‘new agreement’ with Manila over resupply missions to Second Thomas Shoal, a claim denied by Philippine officials. Romeo Brawner, Chief of Staff of the Philippine Armed Forces, said Beijing may be using a deepfake to fabricate the audio it plans to release, allegedly between a Chinese diplomat and a Philippine military official.
