AMD CEO Lisa Su says the US chipmaker plans to increase its investment in Taiwan’s supply chain beyond the US$10 billion announced in May, as demand for its AI products continues to rise. During a brief visit to Taiwan, Su met with Foxconn and other suppliers before heading to TSMC. With demand outpacing supply, AMD is looking to deepen cooperation with Taiwanese partners and potentially extend planning schedules from one or two years to as long as five years. Su says the investment remains on track, with more spending planned.
