Workplace Personality Testing: Shortcut or Science?

Personality tests are found not only in the pages of magazines, but also in the recruitment processes of most Fortune 500 companies. From entry-level up to C-suite hires, recruiters are increasingly looking to psychological profiling. New generations of both people and AI are also becoming part of the workplace. As Gen Z prioritizes wellbeing and inclusivity, biased data can skew AI-driven tools in the recruitment process, putting POGM, neurodivergent people and others at a disadvantage. Do personality tests actually work? Do cultural biases affect results? We examine why some are superficial, and why — done correctly — others can effectively predict behavior on the job.
