Despite its small size and international isolation, Taiwan’s scientists are powering the world’s technological advancements. And behind some of the most significant breakthroughs is the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), headquartered in Hsinchu. It founded Taiwan’s iconic semiconductor company TSMC, which supplies 90% of the world’s advanced chips. And it is now pioneering all kinds of innovations that are set to change the way we live.
