Taiwan's Food Delights - Plum Banquet
Although Taiwan is well-known for its tropical mangoes and bananas, not many know that it was also once one of the world’s largest plum exporters. We take you to meet the Liu family on a peek visit to their plum garden and its magnificent soothing view of Taiwan’s highlands. Another fun fact is that plums are a rare fruit that cannot be eaten raw. Liu takes us through the entire year-long fermenting process of making plums we so frequently see as snacks, wine, and recipes for the dinner table.
