Taiwan is sending a 40-member platoon from the marines to Guam for joint U.S. amphibious warfare training. Taiwan+ spoke to Wen-ti Sung, a political scientist at the Australian National University, about joint U.S. Taiwan training, including the presence of the United States military in Taiwan. He told us that it should come as no surprise that U.S. personnel are training Taiwanese to use high-grade U.S. military arms, following the sale of this equipment to the country.
